I had no idea what to expect with my first daughter’s photo session but Jaci helped to make what could have been a stressful event stress free. Of course, when it was time to take my second daughter’s photos, there was no doubt I was going back to Jaci. FAQ

When should I book my senior session?

Most seniors book their session 3–6 months in advance, especially if they want peak seasons like summer or fall. Booking early ensures you get the best date and plenty of time for planning.

What should I wear?

Choose outfits that feel comfortable, confident, and true to your style. Most seniors bring 3-4 outfits to create variety in their photos. Once you're booked, I’ll guide you through outfit ideas and help you choose pieces that photograph beautifully.

Where will the session take place?

Sessions typically take place at outdoor locations around Metro Detroit that provide beautiful light and variety. During our consultation, we’ll talk about locations that match your personality and style.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll simply reschedule for the next available date with good lighting conditions. Beautiful light is worth the wait.

Do parents need to attend the session?

Yes — a parent or guardian should attend the session. Many parents enjoy being there to watch the experience and help with outfits or encouragement.

How long does the session last?

Most sessions last 60–90 minutes of actual shooting time, which gives us plenty of time for multiple outfits and a variety of locations while keeping the experience relaxed and fun. I schedule a full 2-hour window for each session so we have flexibility for outfit changes, walking between shooting spots, and capturing the best natural light.

Can we include hobbies, sports, or personal interests?

Yes! Senior sessions are meant to celebrate your senior's journey. Whether that’s a sport, instrument, hobby, or something meaningful to them, we can absolutely incorporate those elements into the session to make the photos feel even more personal.

How does the ordering process work?

About 1–2 weeks after your session, you’ll receive an online gallery where you can view all of your images. Each photo is professionally edited for color, lighting, and overall style so you can see the final look of your session while choosing your favorites.

Your gallery also includes a built-in store, where you can easily order prints, products, and digital images directly from the gallery.

Once your selections are made, I will fully retouch your chosen images before delivering them or sending them to print. Final retouching includes subtle refinements such as blemish removal and polishing the image so it’s ready to be beautifully displayed.

Do you retouch photos?

All images are professionally edited for color, lighting, and style before they are shown in your gallery. Once you select your favorites, I complete final retouching before delivering or printing the images, including subtle blemish removal and small refinements so the photos look polished while still natural.

Your proof gallery is carefully edited for color, exposure, and overall consistency so you can view your complete session and choose your favorites. Once you've made your selections, each chosen image receives my full signature retouching before final delivery, ensuring every image you receive is polished and ready to print, share, and enjoy for years to come.


After your final images are selected, you'll also have the opportunity to purchase additional fully retouched digital images, professional prints, wall art, and handcrafted heirloom albums if you'd like to preserve even more of your senior story.
