The Experience

Five smiling young adults pose together outside a brick building in black and white.
If I could freeze time, I would.

Not because life is perfect, but because the ordinary moments have a way of becoming the ones we miss the most.

Photography is the closest thing I've found to holding onto them.

Hi, I’m Jaci.

If you’ve spent any time looking around my website, you’ve probably noticed that my work leans toward the real moments—the quiet ones, the joyful ones, the ones that don’t always announce themselves. That’s not an accident. It’s a reflection of who I am and how I move through the world.

I’ve been a photographer for over 12 years, but more than that, I’m someone who pays attention. I notice the way people soften once they realize they don’t have to perform. I notice the nervous energy at the beginning of a session, the unsure hands, the “what do I do?”—and then the shift, the exhale, the laughter that comes when it all starts to feel natural. That’s where the magic lives for me.

I’m a wife and a boy mom to two growing humans who remind me every single day just how quickly life moves.

Our days are full—packed schedules, endless noise, messy rooms, quick conversations in the car, and the little moments that feel ordinary in the moment but somehow become the ones we miss the most. The everyday chaos, the laughter, the quiet in-between moments… they all tell the story of this season of life.

Being in the middle of it has changed me. It has softened my heart, shifted my perspective, and shaped the way I photograph the families who trust me to preserve their stories.

I don’t just understand that these seasons are fleeting—I’m living them, too. And that’s why I care so deeply about capturing life as it truly is, not a perfectly posed version of it. The imperfect moments. The in-between glances. The genuine laughter, connection, and love found in the everyday.

Those are the moments that matter most. Those are the memories I want you to hold onto—the ones that bring you right back to this season of life, years from now.

This blog is a place for stories—old and new

You’ll see a mix of recent sessions and archived work here. Some of these images were created years ago, but the stories they tell are timeless. Growth doesn’t erase the past—it builds on it.

This space is where I’ll share:

favorite sessions and the stories behind them

reflections on photography, family, and connection

reminders that your life doesn’t need to be perfect to be worth documenting

You don’t need to know what to do.

You just need to show up.

Photography has been part of my life for a long time, and it still feels like a privilege every single time someone trusts me with their story.

Whether I’m photographing a senior stepping into a new chapter or a family in the middle of their everyday chaos, I approach each session with care and intention.

If you’re looking for images that feel warm, honest, and true to you, I’d love to connect.

So glad you’re here,

Jaci
