There are sessions that stay with you.

This one lives in my heart.

I had the honor of photographing my father- and mother-in-law for what would become their final photo session together.

We knew cancer was part of his story, but we didn't realize how quickly that chapter would come to an end. I'm thankful these images preserve him looking healthy, smiling, and admiring the woman he loved most.

At the time, what we did know was that these moments mattered. The laughter. The hand holding. The familiar glances that only come from decades spent loving one another.

It was a simple session. No elaborate props or grand location. Just the two of them, exactly as they were—a couple who had weathered life's joys and hardships side by side. Love was written in every wrinkle, every smile, and every quiet moment between them.

"Photography is a way of honoring the lives God entrusted to us—long after they’ve gone home."

My father-in-law passed away not long after this session.

Now, these photographs are more than pictures hanging on our walls. They are reminders of a life that was deeply loved and a man who meant so much to so many.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a grandfather our children looked up to and adored. These images are now displayed in our homes as a reminder of the love he gave, the impact he made, and the moments we were blessed to share with him.

This session changed my perspective on photography. It reminded me that every photograph holds a story, a feeling, and a moment we may one day wish we could relive.

We don’t take photos just for today.

We take them for the days that come after.

For the day a voice is missing from the table.

For the moments when we need to remember a laugh, a smile, or the way someone made us feel loved.

If you’ve been putting off scheduling a session with the people who mean the most to you, don’t wait.

Life doesn’t give us a timeline. But photography gives us something to hold onto when time moves forward.

This session was a gift—one I will forever be grateful for and never take for granted.

The best time to capture your loved ones is now.

In memory of an incredible husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a man who was deeply loved.
